The Bargain Bin Witch

The universe has begun renegotiating.

It has been nine days since the mugs floated at Second Chances, and Jenna has a theory: that was the building’s business, not hers. The theory holds up beautifully until a spoon starts turning on its own and the espresso machine switches itself on, unasked, and hums at her.

Then the awakenings start. Eleven people across Southwest Florida have woken up with magic since the Veil was mended, and one of them is dead. On a partly burned list found beside the body, somebody has written Jenna’s name, circled it, and added a question mark.

She is not becoming a witch. She would like that noted, formally and in writing.
